This entire page is a disclaimer required on behalf of the Federal Trade Commission who, to date has not implicated one CEO, President or VP from any major bank for their actions in creating and escalating the failure of the mortgage banking and housing industry.
The FTC has chosen to “pass the buck” to real estate professionals to take on the brunt of the crimes that were committed by the likes of former Countrywide CEO, Angelo Mozillo (securities fraud and insider trading charges…NO JAIL TIME).
The FTC has created strict guidelines that will ultimately be used to implicate some poor unsuspecting real estate agent that tries to help a homeowner in need of assistance with their short sale. Yes…that agent now faces federal implication (jail time) if a mistake is made…remind you that Angelo Mozillo is walking around a “free man” despite his heinous, egregious and despicable crimes against “The American Dream”
Although we protest the FTC’s failure to implicate obvious industry heads (predators who knew what they were doing) for their actions against the American Homeowner…we do support the fact that people do take advantage of others and those folks need to be protected.
So here is the disclaimer:
